Did you actually go on dates with any of these dudes?
I did - people ask if I posted the ad just to make the book, but I was looking for dates in earnest in 2005. I went on dates with two dudes, and both were very cute and very nice. One guy (he was really into puzzles) wrote to me after our first date that he wasn’t over his ex and didn’t want to go out again. The other guy (he did research at the south pole) I went out with twice, but on the second date we ran out of things to talk about. Neither of us bothered to call the other to try and set up a third.
